LARGE Companies (Category 1 employers)

i.e. where the employer has  a base tariff premium exceeding $50,000

    OR is self insured
    OR empoys more than 20 workers and is insured with a specialised insurer.

These companies need to employ a Return-to-Work Coordinator who is accredited by Workcover.  They may also wish to establish an OH&S comittee.

 

SMALLER companies (Category 2 employers)

The Workers Compensation Act requires all employers

  • to have a workplace Return to Work plan which describes the programme enabling injured staff to return to work.
  • to have a written return to work plan for any workers unfit to work for twelve weeks or more.
