of the employer
- Provide a safe and healthy workplace.
- Have a worker's compensation insurance
policy.
FAILURE to do so means:
- penalty up to $27,000 or 6 months in prison
- workcover can claim twice the amount that
the premium should have been
- liability for any compensation will lie with
the employer
- Keep a record of all wages paid for the last
seven years.
- Send the injured worker's compensation claim
to the insurer within seven days.
- Inability to dismiss a person as a result of
a work related injury within six months of this injury taking place.
- To keep a Register of Injuries in which
records are kept.
- Establish a workplace rehabilitation programme.
